BIOPRINTER is a product design concept that was one of the 35 semifinalists at
the competition "Electrolux Design Lab 2015"
COMPETITION BRIEF/Create an innovative future concept that encourages children in one of the three main areas; air purification, textile care and cooking, to become healthy, engaged and happy.
CONCEPT/
BIOPRINTER is a future food 3d printer that gives children a complete, rewarding and fun experience at the moment of preparing their meals. This experience encourages children to be healthy, with the use of a tactile interface that creates an user profile and guides them to eat nutritive meals. Besides, it encourages them to be environmentally conscious, with its eco friendly way to obtain energy from organic waste to work, and finally promoting their creativity with its tactile interface that permits them to shape their food.
The main consumer insights respond to children’s needs of having a fun eating experience , to the problem that the actual cooking devices are not suitable for children, and they do not encourage them to eat, and to parents concerns that their children eat healthy food, and the need of ecofriendly products.
